Musical Notes

18th June 2005 Report

Wow what a day!! The Nottingham Live Music Festival held its first event last weekend and what a fantastic day it was. We can't believe how smoothly it went and what a great time was had by everyone that attended. Our warm thanks go out to all the lovely people that came down and supported our absolutely incredible community music and arts festival.

This brilliant day was achieved through the hard work of the organisers,Anthony and Sam donating all of their time and effort for nothing, not a penny!! As well as all our supporters that have helped us get this far. We reserve special thanks and respect for all of the work done by people on the day, again for absolutely nothing, these are Dub Judah, who did an incredible job on-stage and sound engineering, Xanthe and her team of artists who did a fabulous job of decorating the Arboretum with all of the beautiful butterflies that the children in the schools project made. A big thank you to all of the schools and children involved the Bandstand really looked wonderful. Ted our Chief Steward (we will get you some more stewards to manage next time, we promise) and Alan our sole steward. Thanks also to everyone from DEMO who came down and provided an Open Mic stage and Creative Corner for the kids.

Thanks also to DJ Keith-It-Real for providing some great reggae tunes between the bands, mmdeli for feeding all the crew quality food, yum and last but certainly not least, the bands. Huge thanks to these wonderfully talented musicians that came and played their hearts out for you for absolutely nothing. Left of the Dealer for getting the festival of to a funky start, Wholesome Fish for a brilliant comeback gig (why did you ever go away?) and Fat Digester for doing what their name suggests and getting us up and dancing at the end with some phat tunes!! We are so sorry you had to finish early and promise you will get double time at next years festy!!
